Mike Sinquefield - TCU

CoY-Logo-360-500FootballScoop is proud to announce that Mike Sinquefield (TCU) is the 2011 FootballScoop Director of Football Operations of the Year presented by SpeedTracs.

Ask any football operations person in the country who some of the best DFOs are you will undoubtedly hear Mike Sinquefield's name early in the conversation. Screen Shot_2011-12-14_at_3.28.47_PM

Mike is a consummate professional. Head coach Gary Patterson told FootballScoop, "He's the reason why I can just be a football coach. He works 24 hours a day to make everyone's job easier. Whether it's our administration or bowl representatives, everyone who works with him loves him."

Over the past few weeks, we at FootballScoop have received nearly 20 incoming calls from Operations staff members across the country calling to tell us how highly they think of Mike and how much assistance he has provided to their staff over the years. One quote saying, "If you are young and in over your head, Mike Sinquefield is the guy to talk you down off the ledge and to point you in the right direction. He has an answer for every situation I threw at him."

FootballScoop would like to thank everyone from around the country who took the time to write to us about each of the finalists this year. Clearly all three are true assets to the football teams and to their Universities.

The FootballScoop Coaches of the Year awards presented by SpeedTracs are the only set of awards that recognize the most outstanding position coaches in college football.  The finalists (Sinquefield, Jason Grooms of Ohio and John Widecan of Cincinnati) were selected based off of nominations by coaches, athletic directors, and athletic department personnel. A panel of coaches including previous recipients determined the winner.

Mike Kerin of West Virginia won this award in 2010.
