Bob Bostad - 2010 Offensive Line Coach of the Year

Bob Bostad - University of Wisconsin

coy-logo-2010-350x452FootballScoop is proud to announce that Bob Bostad (Wisconsin) is the 2010 FootballScoop Offensive Line Coach of the Year presented by SpeedTracs.

Bostad’s offensive line helped the Badgers run for 247 yards per game and did an exceptional job protecting the quarterback. Wisconsin allowed just one sack per game (14th nationally), while scoring 43 points per game. The Badgers finished the season with 92 rushes for 10+ yards, ninth most in the country.

bostadactiveCenter John Moffitt and offensive tackle Gabe Carimi were recognized as First Team All Big Ten. Carimi was named the conference offensive lineman of the year. The dominant group up front helped Wisconsin finish 11-1 and become Big Ten champions.

Head coach Bret Bielema told FootballScoop, "What we do on the offensive line doesn't just happen by chance. Coach Bostad recruits offensive linemen that love playing football the way that we do. Our offensive line is one of the hardest working groups on our team. At Wisconsin, we put our offensive line in leadership roles and we lean on the offensive line as the foundation of our football family. This is a tremendous honor for Coach Bostad and very well deserved."

Wisconsin earned a trip to Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where the Badgers will play TCU on January 1st.

The FootballScoop Coaches of the Year awards presented by SpeedTracs are the only set of awards that recognize the most outstanding position coaches in college football.  The finalists (Bostad, Jeff Grimes - Auburn, Matt Limegrover - Northern Illinois and Greg Roman and Tim Drevno - Stanford) were selected based off of nominations by coaches, athletic directors, and athletic department personnel. A panel of coaches including previous recipients determined the 2010 winners.

Previous winners of the Offensive Line Coach of the Year award are Steve Greatwood (Oregon, 2008) and Tony Wise (Pitt, 2009).
