UCLA: Offensive coordinator Norm Chow has agreed to a 2-year contract extension. Chow will make $340,000 this year. The following two years, he will make somewhere between $400,000-$500,000 per year.

Clemson: Clemson University has released detail of Dabo Swinney’s new contract today. Swinney’s new deal guarantees $1.75 million per year through the next 5 years. If Clemson wins the ACC, Swinney would get a raise to the average of the top 7 highest-paid coaches in the ACC. If Clemson earns a trip to the ACC championship game, Swinney would get an additional $37,500 bonus. If the Tigers were to win the national championship, he would receive an extra $150,000.

Minnesota Vikings / USC: Running backs coach Eric Bienemy has added the title of “assistant head coach.” He will also receive a raise. Reports out of Minnesota state that Bienemy turned down the USC offensive coordinator / running backs job.
MacMurray College (IL): We have learned that Greensboro College quarterbacks coach Robert Haley Conway has accepted the same position at MacMurray College.

Fresno State: Head coach Pat Hill has worked out an agreement with Fresno State on a 3-year contract extension through 2013. Hill, however, will take a pay cut to help the athletic department and community.
Bemidji State: Our sources tell us Central Lakes College quarterbacks / wide receivers coach Karson Pike has accepted a grad assistant position working the defensive backs at Bemidji State.
Claremont Mudd Scripps College: Rick Candaele has stepped down as head coach. We hear defensive coordinator /defensive line coach Steve Retzlaff has been promoted to head coach.

FIU: Our sources tell us FIU director of football operations Jeff Malley has resigned his position. Our source tell us FIU head coach Mario Christobal has started an immediate search for a replacement.
North Texas: North Texas has hired Chuck Neinas to evaluate the entire athletic program. Neinas Sports Services consults athletic departments in a number of ways.
Denison University: Jeff Buchanan has joined the staff as outside linebackers coach. Buchanan coached at the high school level this past season. Former Wooster quarterback Austin Holter accepted the quarterbacks job. Zack Brent, a 2007 Denison graduate, will serve as co-defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach. Brent is a former Michigan Tech grad assistant and also served as a recruiting assistant at Colorado.

Vanderbilt: In making the announcement that he is retiring (”not resigning”) coach Johnson said that he and his wife simply felt that it was time to move on in life and said that he likely will move back to South Carolina to be closer to family in retirement. Assistant head coach Robbie Caldwell has been named interim head coach.
