Houston: Offensive coordinator Jason Phillips will call the plays.  Kliff Kingsbury will have the title of co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks.  Clarence McKinney will take over as recruiting coordinator.  Tony Levine has added the title of assistant head coach.

Tulsa: Wide receivers coach Clarence James has resigned.

Syracuse: Recently hired running backs coach Roger Harriott has decided to return to University School (FL), where he previously served as AD / head coach.  Harriott has resigned from the Syracuse staff.

Georgia Tech: Our sources tell us NC State assistant Andy McCollum will be joining the GA Tech coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball. 

LA Tech: Offensive line coach Pete Perot, defensive line coach Stan Eggan, and special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl will be retained.  Rob Likens will coach the wide receivers. 

Texas A&M: We are hearing Steve Kragthorpe will interview at A&M for the wide receivers job.

USC: We are hearing that Lane Kiffin has talked with Arkansas State offensive coordinator Clay Helton regarding a position at USC.  Helton served as the OC at Memphis this past season, before joining the Arkansas State staff recently.

Washington Redskins: The Redskins hired Richard Hightower as assistant special teams coach.  Hightower coached the wide receivers at the University of Minnesota last season.

Miami: We hear Randy Shannon is interested in FIU running backs coach Mike Cassano for the running backs job at Miami. 

LA Tech: There is a report that MTSU offensive coordinator Tony Franklin has been offered the OC job under Sonny Dykes.  Franklin has not accepted the position at this point, according to our sources.

Ohio: We hear West Virginia grad assistant Brian Haines and former Akron assistants Chris Hedden and Reno Ferri are all involved in the Ohio tight ends position that is open.

Bucknell: We are hearing that Ohio State offensive grad assistant Chad Rogosheske will be going to Bucknell as the offensive line coach.

Toronto Argos: There is a report that Jim Barker will return to the sidelines as head coach.

Michigan: We heard Nick Sheridan will serve as a grad assistant.

Memphis: We heard Wes Turner accepted a defensive GA position. 

Wagner: We hear Wilkes defensive intern Marvin Clecidor accepted the defensive GA position.

Illinois: Wow.  Vic Koenning got his guy.  Tulsa co-defensive coordinator Ron West will be joining the Illinois staff, after all.  We had thought this might occur for many weeks.  Koenning and West coached together at Clemson. 

New Orleans Saints: The Saints have reimbursed Sean Payton $250,000 for the time he gave up the money to lure Gregg Williams to New Orleans.

Idaho: Our sources tell us Steve Axman is moving from tight ends to quarterbacks.  The Vandals are looking to hire a tight ends coach.

Pitt: Our sources are telling us that Hampton University defensive coordinator Bernard Clark has accepted the linebackers job at Pitt.

Oakland Raiders: Clancy Pendargast has been hired as defensive backs coach.

Albright College: We are hearing East Ridge HS assistant Rob Hollway accepted the defensive line job.  We hear Albright is still looking for a defensive intern / video coordinator.

Appalachian State: We hear Rodney Allison talked to App State head coach Jerry Moore regarding a position.

Texas A&M: There is a report that OC / wide receivers coach Nolan Cromwell will accept the wide receivers position with the St. Louis Rams.

Chattanooga: We hear Jimmy Lindsey joined the staff as defensive line coach.

The Citadel: We hear Tommy Laurendine did accept the offensive coordinator position.

Iowa State: We are hearing Paul Rhoads is interested in Bobby Elliot as his new defensive backs coach.

Widener University is searching for an offensive line / offensive coordinator.  Those who are interested should email Resume and References to iacollins@widener.edu.  Looking to fill position immediately.

Montana: We hear Arizona State defensive quality control Aric Williams will be joining the Montana staff.

Georgia: Mark Richt has hired Vanderbilt linebackers coach / recruiting coordinator Warren Belin to fill out his coaching staff. He will serve as the linebackers coach at Georgia.

Minnesota Gophers: Wide receivers coach Richard Hightower has left the staff.  Also, running backs coach Thomas Hammock will add the title of co-offensive coordinator.

Texas A&M: Rivals’ Tom Dienhart reports that A&M offensive coordinator / wide receivers coach Nolan Cromwell will interview on Monday for an NFL coaching position.

Tennessee: Chuck Smith will have the title of defensive line coach.

New England Patriots: Belichick is expanding his role.  The Pats will not hire a defensive coordinator.

Chicago Bears: Shane Day accepted the quarterbacks job.  We also hear Rod Marinelli has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Lane College: We are hearing New York Sentinels (UFL) defensive backs coach Derrick Burroughs has accepted the head coaching job.

Georgia Southern: We hear Georgia Military College defensive line coach Victor Cabral accepted the assistant defensive line job at Georgia Southern.

Central Michigan: Missouri S&T head coach Kirby Cannon has accepted the defensive backs job at Central Michigan.

Texas Tech: Charlie Sadler, who coached the Red Raiders’ defensive line last season, is retiring.  Also, Tuberville announced he will serve as his own ’head special teams coach.’

Frostburg State: We hear the OC position is open.

Greensboro College: We are hearing offensive line coach / offensive coordinator Jimmy Teague is leaving to become the head coach at George Washinton HS (VA).

Southern Illinois:  We hear that University of Sioux Falls head coach Kalen DeBoer has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Southern Illinois.  We hear Sioux Falls offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will serve as interim head coach.

Louisville: In addition to coaching the linebackers, Brian Jean-Mary will have the title of assistant head coach.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Paul LaPolice accepted the head coaching job.

San Francisco 49ers: Ray Brown has joined the staff as assistant offensive line coach.

Seattle Seahawks: Luke Butkus and Dave Canales have joined the staff as offensive quality control coaches.  Canales served as an administrative assistant at USC last season.

Arizona Wildcats: Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and running backs / tight ends coach Seth Littrell will serve as co-offensive coordinators.

Arizona Wildcats: FootballScoop has learned that Mike Stoops will be hiring LA Tech offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Frank Scelfo.  Our source tells us Scelfo will be coaching the quarterbacks at Arizona.

Arizona Cardinals: Our sources tell us that University of Miami running backs coach Tommie Robinson will be joining the Arizona Cardinals coaching staff as running backs coach.  On a week when Randy Shannon landed one of the top defensive line coaches in the country in Rick Petri, the Canes’ now lose one of the most highly respected running back coaches in the country.

Purdue: We hear Rutgers defensive line coach Gary Emanuel accepted the co-defensive coordinator / defensive line job at Purdue.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Former Toronto Argos assistant Ron Heller and former Murray State head coach Matt Griffin have joined the staff as offensive assistants.

New Mexico: Our sources tell us former Tennessee assistant David Reaves has accepted the quarterbacks / passing game coordinator position at New Mexico.

Saskatchewan Roughriders: We hear former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Larry Zierlein has an offer to join the staff as offensive line coach.

West Hills Community College: Located in Coalinga, California in the Central Valley region of the state.  The football program has one opening for a part-time defensive backs coach/asst. resident hall advisor.  The job pays $1000.00 a month with housing and meals. The defensive assistant will help with game planning, coordinate video needs for the staff and assist in recruiting.  Interested candidates should email a cover letter and resume to Head Football Coach, Cal Tincher at caltincher@whccd.edu

Texas Tech: Our sources tell us that Don Dunn will be joining Tuberville’s staff.  Dunn coached the defensive tackles at Auburn under Tuberville.  He served on the staff at Auburn HS this past season.

Tennessee: We are hearing former NY Jets assistant Chuck Smith has joined the staff.

Stanford: FootballScoop has just learned that David Shaw will serve as offensive coordinator and move over to running backs.  Ron Turner has indeed been hired.  He will coach the quarterbacks and wide receivers.  Our source tells us Chester McGlockton will join the staff as a defensive intern.  Also, Tim Wait has been hired as recruiting assistant.

Bethune-Cookman: Charles “Yogi” Jones will serve as defensive coordinator.  Former Southern University assistant Mark Orlando will serve as the offensive coordinator. Former Howard University assistant Terry Sims will serve as the special teams coordinator.  Kelly Sims will coach the running backs.

Florida: There is a report that Florida DC George Edwards is leaving the Gators’ coaching staff to become the defensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills.  Edwards was on the job for only a month with the Gators.

Stanford: We hear Jim Harbaugh has talked with former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner about a position on the offensive staff at Stanford.

The Citadel: Bob Bodine has joined the staff as assistant offensive coordinator.  There is a report that Lenoir-Rhyne offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Tommy Laurendine could be joining the staff soon.

Philadelphia Eagles: Former Browns’ GM Phil Savage has joined the Eagles’ organization as a draft consultant.  His title will be “Player Personnel Consultant.”

NY Jets: We hear Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Mark Carrier has accepted the defensive line job with the Jets.

St. Francis (PA): We hear Central Connecticut State defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen interviewed for the DC position.

Culver-Stockton (MO): We have just learned that Truman State assistant Justin Gumm will be joining the Culver-Stockton coaching staff as running backs coach.

Bluffton University: FootballScoop has just learned that John Carroll wide receivers coach Craig Smith has accepted a position on the Bluffton University staff.

Memphis: We are hearing that former Georgia Southern defensive assistant Wes Turner has interviewed for a grad assistant position at Memphis.

Wisconsin: Our sources tell us Iowa State defensive backs coach Chris Ash has accepted a position at Wisconsin.

UCONN: We hear former ULM defensive backs coach Darrel Perkins has been hired as defensive backs coach.  As expected, Fordham running backs coach John Wholley will serve as the tight ends coach.

Oklahoma: Recently hired assistant coach Willie Martinez will coach the defensive backs.  Bobby Jack Wright will move from defensive backs to defensive ends.

Santa Monica College: Our sources tell us the interim tag has been removed and Gifford Lindheim is the new head football coach.

New Mexico: We heard Mike Locksley has interest in former Tennessee quarterbacks coach David Reaves.

Kentucky: FootballScoop has confirmed that New Mexico quarterbacks coach Tee Martin will be joining the Kentucky coaching staff.

Memphis: There is a report in Baton Rouge that LSU tight ends coach Don Yanosky will be going to Memphis as the special teams coordinator.  We reported a few weeks ago that Larry Porter was trying to snag a SEC coach with previous Memphis coaching experience after signing day to join his staff as special teams coordinator.  As of late last night, we confirmed from multiple sources that Yanosky to Memphis was not yet a done deal.  Our sources tell us Yanosky does have an offer and will decide shortly.  “Yano” coached at Memphis for a number of years and we hear his family has always liked the Memphis area.

Boise State: With Justin Wilcox leaving for Tennessee, head coach Chris Peterson waited little time in promoting defensive line coach Pete Kwiatkowski to defensive coordinator.

Chicago Bears: We hear Shane Day interviewed for the quarterbacks job.

Riverside City College: We are hearing that UCLA special teams intern Darrin Chiaverini has accepted the special teams coordinator / recruiting coordinator job at Riverside City College.

Nevada: James Spady will actually coach the tight ends.  Current assistant Cameron Norcross (tight ends)has been promoted to offensive line coach / run game coordinator.  Spady will assist with the offensive line.

LA Tech: We hear Central Connecticut State offensive coordinator Rob Likens will be joining the LA Tech staff under Sonny Dykes.

North Park University: We hear John Carroll co-offensive coordinator / recruiting coordinator Andy Hoffman has accepted a position on the North Park University staff.

Otterbein: We hear fomer Ohio Dominican DC Joe Nemith III has been hired as co-defensive coordinator.

Grand Valley State: We hear Wartburg College offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Tim Morrison has accepted the offensive line job at Grand Valley State.

Miami: Head coach Randy Shannon has given the title of “recruiting coordinator” to wide receivers coach Aubrey Hill.

Louisville:  We have confirmed Georgia Tech linebackers Brian Jean-Mary will be going to Louisville as the linebackers coach.

Valparaiso:  We hear former Alabama State defensive coordinator Tony Pierce has been hired as the new defensive coordinator at Valparaiso.

Delaware:  FootballScoop has learned linebackers coach Ben Albert is leaving the Delaware staff to join the Jacksonville Jaguars staff.  Our sources tell us the linebackers job at Delaware is open.

Nevada:  We are hearing Grambling State offensive coordinator / offensive line coach James Spady will be joining the Nevada staff as offensive line / tight ends coach.

Pikeville College:  We hear that Allan Holland Jr. has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Pikeville.  He was an offensive assistant at Eastern Kentucky this past season.

Texas Tech:  We hear that Texas Tech has hired Jim Nichols in an off-the-field position.

Lane College:  Sources tell us that both the head coach and the athletic director at Lane College (D2 in TN) will not be returning.  We spoke with the President’s office who told us they would be making an official announcement at 2PM.

Elon:  Our sources tell us special teams coordinator Dave Ungerer has resigned.

Texas Tech:  We hear Kevin Wolthausen (defensive line coach Las Vegas - UFL) interviewed with Tuberville.

Tampa Bay:  We hear the Bucs have hired Arizona State wide receivers coach Eric Yarber.

Arizona State: Our sources are telling us that Washington St. wide receivers coach Steve Broussard will be replacing Eric Yarber.

UCONN: FootballScoop has learned that UCONN interviewed a former UCONN grad assistant for the tight ends job earlier in the week.

Louisville: We have confirmed that Louisville has hired a new linebackers coach out of the ACC.

Elon University: Our sources tell us that Campbell University defensive line coach Jerrick Hall has accepted the defensive line job at Elon.  Before coaching at Campbell, Hall served as a grad assistant at NC State.

East Carolina: Elon defensive line coach Marc Yellock has accepted the defensive line job at East Carolina.

Montana Western: Bellevue HS coach Wes Warren has accepted the special teams coordinator / linebackers / recruiting coordinator position at Montana Western.

Houston Texans: We hear the Texans have extended Gary Kubiak’s contract through 2012.

Central Michigan: Former Western Michigan defensive line coach Tim Daoust and former Louisville quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson have both joined the Central Michigan staff.

Furman: Former Concord University (WV) defensive coordinator Brian Hill will coach the defensive line.

Chicago Bears: Former Seattle Seahawks tight ends coach Mike Debord has accepted the tight ends job.

Philadelphia Eagles: Dick Jauron has accepted the defensive backs job.

Texas Tech:  We hear that Tuberville has offered a defensive position to Tarleton State head coach Sam McElroy.  Our source tells us McElroy is expected to accept the defensive line job.

Rice:  The Owls have added John Reagan as run game coordinator, tackles and tight ends coach.  Reagan was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Kansas for the last five seasons.

Ohio Dominican:  Capital University head coach Jim Bickel is leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Ohio Dominican.

Tennessee:  Sources tell FootballScoop that Boise State defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox will be arriving in Knoxville Thursday.

Western Michigan:  We are hearing St. Joseph’s College (IN) head coach Lou Esposito will be going to Western as the defensive line coach.

Wagner College:  We hear that the Wagner staff will have a new look for the upcoming season.  Defensive coordinator Mark Collins and special teams coordinator Johan Williams have both resigned as did defensive backs coach Joe Todd.  We hear they have hired Malik Hall from Fordham as defensive coordinator and Kiely Nagle as tight ends coach.  Hall served as Fordham’s defensive line coach and special teams coordinator this past season and Nagle was the offensive line coach at Western New England College.

Western Michigan:  Steve Casula has been hired as the offensive graduate assistant.  Casula just completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware where he served as a student assistant.

Seattle Seahawks:  We hear that Pete Carroll has hired Rocky Seto as the defensive quality control.

Portland State:  Bruce Barnum has been named the offensive coordinator after serving in that same capacity at Cornell for the past three seasons.

Tennessee:  We hear that Steve Rubio will be staying at Tennessee.

Texas Tech:  Our sources tell us former Auburn assistant Steve Ensminger will be joining the staff in an off-the-field role.

Alabama:  Kirby is Smart.  His new compensation has been approved by the board of trustees at Alabama.  His new base salary is $750,000 and his agreement runs through February 2013.  Smart is also set to receive a $34,000 bonus next month.  His base salary this past season was $360,000.  No buyout if he leaves to become a head coach.  Apparently it pays to be named the FootballScoop Defensive Coordinator of the Year powered by Muscle Milk…and to win a national championship and be courted by several other teams.

Virginia:  We are hearing former Washington Redskins tight ends coach Scott Wachenheim has accepted the tight ends position at Virginia.  Our source tells us Bob Price will be moving into an off-the-field role.

Pace University (NY): We just heard that Stanford defensive quality control Jon Haskins joined the Pace staff as defensive coordinator.

North Alabama: Our sources tell us that Florida State defensive quality control Tony Pecoraro will be joining the staff as defensive coordinator. 

Troy: We are hearing in the next few days that Larry Blakeney will likely announce the hiring of Lassiter HS (GA) head coach Chip Lindsey and former Central Michigan running backs coach Jeff Beckles.  We were told that wide receivers coach Kenny Edenfield will be promoted to offensive coordinator.  Our source tells us Lindsey will coach the quarterbacks.

USC: We hear Tennessee recruiting intern Steve Rubio is out at USC meeting with Kiffin’s staff.

Advantage….Alabama

Simon Frazier: is not accepting any more applications for the offensive coordinator position.

Mid-America Nazzerine: We hear former NY Giant Mark Collins has joined the staff as secondary coach.

Nebraska-Kearney: Concordia University assistant Scott Hoffman has joined the UNK staff as wide receivers coach.

Chicago Bears: Mike Martz accepted the offensive coordinator position.

BC Lions: Jacques Chapdelaine has been appointed offensive coordinator.  Travis Moore has accepted the wide receivers job.  Moore coached the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ running backs this past season.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Our sources tell us the Bucs have hired Alex Van Pelt to coach the quarterbacks.

Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs have hired former Atlanta assistant Emmitt Thomas as defensive backs coach.  Former Notre Dame assistant Bernie Parmalee is the new tight ends coach.  Otis Smith is the new defensive quality control.

Jacksonville University: We are hearing VMI safeties coach Danny Verpaele has accepted the secondary job at Jacksonville University.

Hamline University: Former Williamette defensive coordinator Chris Prange has accepted the same position at Hamline University.

Stanford: FootballScoop has confirmed that recently hired Stanford defensive backs coach Willie Martinez is leaving Jim Harbaugh’s staff.  We are waiting to confirm where Martinez is heading, but there is a report that he will be accepting a position on Bob Stoops’ staff at Oklahoma.

Otterbein College:  Ohio Dominican defensive coordinator Joe Nemith has joined the staff at Otterbein.

Citadel:  It will be interesting to see if Kevin Higgins tries to hire back former assistant Bob Fello who spent the past year as the defensive line coach at Marshall.

Ohio Dominican:  We hear former Marshall receivers coach Todd Gobbel has accepted the offensive coordinator postion at Ohio Dominican.

Texas A&M: FootballScoop has confirmed that Purdue defensive line coach Terrell Williams has accepted the defensive line job at Texas A&M.

Buffalo Bills: We hear George Cortez will be joining the Bills’ coaching staff.

East Carolina: FootballScoop has just learned that former Texas Tech offensive grad assistant Brandon Jones will be joining the ECU staff as offensive line coach.  Clay McGuire (former Texas Tech running backs) and Dennis Simmons (former Texas Tech wide receivers) are also joining the staff at East Carolina.

Southern Miss:  We hear Kasey Dunn has accepted the wide receivers position at Southern Miss.

Baltimore Ravens:  Jim Zorn has been hired as the quarterbacks coach.

Widener College:  We hear Widener will hire Ike Collins as head coach.  Collins has served as defensive coordinator at the Citadel.

Toronto Argos: We hear contract negotiations between Scott Milanovich and the Argonauts have not gone smoothly.  We hear it’s not over yet; but this one might not get done.

North Dakota State:  We hear North Dakota State has offered the wide receivers job to Southern Illinois assistant Kenni Burns.

Tennessee:  FootballScoop has learned that Tennessee has hired Harry Hiestand as offensive line coach and Bennie Wylie as the Strength & Conditioning coach.  Hiestand has been with the Chicago Bears since 2005 and Wylie was the Strength & Conditioning coach at Texas Tech for the last five seasons.

Troy: We hear Jeff Beckles, Kenny Ray (Alabama State offensive line), and Jerry Mack (UAPB offensive coordinator) all interviewed with Troy. Beckles coached the running backs at Central Michigan this past season.

New England Patriots: Shane Waldron will not return as tight ends coach.

Averett University: George Washington HS (VA) head coach Dan Newell has accepted the offensive line job at Averett University.

Chicago Bears: Mike Martz has interviewed for the OC position.

High School Scoop

Seattle Seahawks: Jeff Ulbrich has accepted the assistant special teams position.

Toronto Argos: We hear Scott Milanovich will be named head coach.

Minnesota Gophers: Tim Brewster agreed to a 2-year extension through 2013.

Valpo: We hear Heritage HS assistant Ryan Stewart will be joining the Valpo staff.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Jerry Olsavsky has accepted the defensive quality control job.  Olsavsky coaches the linebackers at Youngstown State the last 7 years.

Baltimore Ravens: Adam Caplin of Scout.com is reporting Jim Zorn or Al Saunders will be named quarterbacks coach.

USC: Check the Strength Scoop

Central Missouri: Our sources tell us Sewanee offensive line coach Hank McClung has accepted a position a Central Missouri.

Buffalo Bills: There is a report that Bruce DeHaven will join the staff as special teams coordinator.

New York Giants: Quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer will be moving on from the Giants.  MSG reports Palmer will become the head coach of the UFL’s New York franchise.  According to MSG, Ted Cottrell has been let go and Palmer will be taking over as head coach.

Syracuse: Nate Hackett will have the title of quarterbacks / passing game coordinator.

Santa Rosa JC: We hear Chris Meredith has joined the staff as wide receivers coach.

Tampa Bay Bucs: We hear Pep Hamilton interviewed for the quarterbacks job.

Bethune-Cookman: Linwood Ferguson (defensive line / recruiting coordinator) and Terry Williams (defensive backs) have been retained. Jeff Fagan will serve as DFO.

Stanford: We hear former Georgia defensive coordinator Willie Martinez has been hired as defensive backs coach.  Vic Fangio has also been hired as part of the defensive staff.  We have not yet confirmed what his title will be.

Syracuse: We had heard rumblings from several coaches at the Senior Bowl earlier in the week about Buffalo Bills offensive quality control, Nate Hackett, joining the Syracuse staff.  We were unable to confirm much at that time.  Our sources tell us this morning that Hackett has indeed joined Doug Marrone’s staff, perhaps in the role of quarterbacks coach.  Hackett is the son of veteran NFL coach Paul Hackett.

Chicago Bears: The Chicago Sun Times is reporting the Bears will likely interview New Orleans Saints’ tight ends coach Terry Malone for the OC position.

New England Patriots: Former Notre Dame assistant Corwin Brown will join the Patriots as defensive backs coach.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Fomer Chicago Bears assistant Rob Boras is the new tight ends coach with the Jags.

Houston: Former Texas Tech receiver Eric Morris will be joining Kevin Sumlin’s staff as offensive quality control.

Seattle Seahawks: USC grad assistant Kris Richard will join the staff as assistant defensive backs coach.

Kansas City Chiefs: Dedric Ward and assistant defensive line coach Tim Krumrie will not return.  Anthony Pleasant has been hired as defensive assistant.

Kansas City Chiefs: We hear Pat Perles has moved from defensive quality control to assistant offensive line coach.

Savannah State: According to Savannahnow.com, Robby Wells has resigned as head coach.

Kansas City Chiefs: Clancy Pendergast has left the staff.

Jacksonville Jaguars: We hear Earnest Byner will join the Jaguars’ staff as running backs coach.

Denver Broncos: Linebackers coach Don Martindale has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Chicago Bears: The Bears have received permission to talk with Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers for the OC position.

Princeton: We hear tight ends coach Ron Wisniewski has accepted the head coaching job at Red Mountain HS.

Buffalo Bills: Kevin Patullo will serve as offensive quality control.  Curtis Modkins will serve as OC / running backs.  Joe D’Alessandris will coach the offensive line.  Bob Bicknell will coach the tight ends. George Catavolos will remain as secondary coach. Bob Sanders will remain as defensive line coach.  Giff Smith will coach the outside linebackers.

Frostburg State University: is seeking Graduate Assistant Coach for Football- Defensive Secondary. Central Missouri: We hear former Southeast Oklahoma State assistant Josh Lamberson has accepted a position at Central Missouri.

Stanford: Rivals’ Tom Dienhart reports that he was told Vic Fangio and Willie Martinez have talked with Jim Harbaugh about positions at Stanford.

Marshall: We have confirmed that Rick Minter, who served as the interim head coach / defensive coordinator, has finally been told he will not be retained.  As we reported earlier, Chris Rippon will serve as the new defensive coordinator.

2010 & 2011 Open Dates Database: The database has just been updated with another 11 college programs.  We have added the new program at the bottom of the dates listed.

Ole Miss: Offensive line coach Mike Markuson will add the title of co-offensive coordinator.

UT-San Antonio: We are hearing that University of Texas offensive quality control Tony Jeffery has accepted the wide receivers / special teams coordinator job under Larry Coker.

Jacksonville Jaguars: We have heard that the Jags have interest in New Hampshire assistant Jake Zweig for the assistant defensive line position.

Jacksonville University: Suwannee HS head coach Jerry Odom has joined the staff at Jacksonville under Kerwin Bell.  Odom will serve as the defensive coordinator / assistant head coach.

Greenville College (IL): We are hearing interim head coach Ordell Walker will be named head coach.

Miami: Former Kentucky defensive line coach Rick Petri has accepted the defensive line job with the Miami Hurricanes.

Virginia: Former Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor has accepted the offensive coordinator position with Virginia.  Lazor coached the Redskins’ quarterbacks from 2004-2007.

Dallas Cowboys: Assistant linebackers coach Dat Nguyen decided to resign.

Kansas: Accoring to the Kansas City Star, “Turner Gill gets a 5-year deal worth $10 million.  Gill will earn an annual base salary of $229,900 in addition to an annual media payment of $1,770,100. If Gill coaches all five years, he will receive a $500,000 retention payment. If he is terminated without cause, he will receive a $100,000 payment for each year that he coached. Gill is eligible for incentive payments that could total as much as $400,000 in any one year: Big 12 regular-season championship ($25,000), bowl game participation (one month’s salary), BCS bowl game participation ($50,000), national coach of the year ($100,000) and KU winning the BCS title ($200,000).”

East Carolina: According to the AJC, former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell was at Lassiter HS in Georgia yesterday at the same timte Lincoln Riley was there to recruit a prospect.  We wonder if Harrell ends up on the staff at East Carolina.

Washington Redskins: Keenan McCardell is the new wide receivers coach for the Redskins.

NY Giants: Former Tampa Bay defensive line coach Robert Nunn has accepteddefensive line position with the Giants.

Middle Tennessee State:  Head coach Rick Stockstill has received a raise and an extension through the 2016 season.  His base salary was raised from $269,000 to $469,000 making him the highest paid head coach in the Sun Belt conference.  The revised contract calls for bonuses of $100,000 per season if the team achieves predefined goals.

Bacone College:  Thane Reed has been hired as the new offensive coordinator and Trevor Rubly is the new defensive coordinator.

Concordia University:  Nathan Robbins has been hired as the first head football coach at Concordia, an NAIA program in Michigan.

Texas Tech:  We hear Hargrave Military coach Robert Prunty will be joining the staff.  We hear Troy Davis (current defensive coordinator) will be named the new head coach at Hargrave.

Central Michigan:  FootballScoop has learned that Western Michigan defensive line coach Tim Daoust is moving over to Central Michigan.

Albion College: Albion invites applications for the position of Football Intern. The position is a 4-month assignment and starts February 1st and ends May 31st. The stipend is $1,000 a month with no benefits.
Pending approval, the position may be re-hired for a 10-month appointment in the fall.  The coach will have his own position group and recruiting territory, and will be involved in game planning and film work. Knowledge of Apex editing software is an advantage. Candidates should have playing and/or coaching background in the Defensive Secondary. Bucknell:  FootballScoop has learned that Rutgers assistant (tight ends) Joe Susan has accepted the head coaching position at Bucknell.

Syracuse:  FootballScoop has learned that Syracuse has hired Roger Harriott as their new running backs coach.  Harriott was the head coach and athletic director at University High School (Nova South) in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

South Carolina:  Defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson is getting a raise.  Reports indicate the package will include an annual salary of $700,000 and will run through 2013.

LA Tech:  We hear Sonny Dykes will be at the Senior Bowl today to speak with a coach or two.

Ole Miss:  We are hearing Houston Nutt could be close to hiring former Alabama offensive coordinator Dave Rader.

Southern Miss:  We hear that Kasey Dunn (former Seattle Seahawks running backs coach) has an offer at Southern Miss and with another NFL team.

Bowling Green:  We hear Dave Clawson will be bringing back Bill Durkin, his old offensive line coach from Richmond that served as the assistant head coach at Hofstra this past season.

Toledo:  FootballScoop has learned that Matt Campbell will serve as the offensive coordinator this year.  Campbell was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator this past season.

Senior Bowl Lobby: It certainly seems as though there are more coaches around this year than any previous year.  The afternoon practice had a big-time crowd yesterday.  We have seen at least 30-40 unemployed college coaches walking and talking.  Crazy profession.

Texas: We hear the Texas assistants will not receive a raise this year, but will be receiving 9% of their salary for playing in the BCS title game.  The assistants will also receive as much as $5,000 each for playing in the Big 12 championship game.

Minnesota Gophers: Offensive coordinator Jeff Horton signed a 2-year deal worth a total of $590,000.

Texas State: Head coach Brad Wright has signed a new 3-year contract through 2012.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Defensive line coach Ted Monachino will not return, accoording to reports.  It is being reported that Joe Cullen will indeed coach the defensive line.

Riverside City College: Former San Diego State head coach Tom Craft has accepted the head coaching job at Riverside City College.

North Dakota State: Scott Hazleton has been promoted from defensive line to defensive coordinator.

Toledo: We are hearing that Ohio tight ends coach Scott Isphording is going to Toledo as the quarterbacks coach.

USC:  We hear that Rocky Seto will not return.

Houston Texans:  Greg Knapp has accepted the quarterbacks position with the Texans.

Bucknell:  We hear two of the finalists for the Bucknell job are Maryland receivers coach Lee Hull and Rutgers assistant Joe Susan.

North Texas:  Despite multiple reports, Mike Canales has not yet accepted an offer to be the offensive coordinator at North Texas.  We hear Canales is still deciding.

University of Puget Sound:  We hear Redlands defensive coordinator Jeff Thomas has accepted the head coaching position at Puget Sound.

Tampa Bay:  The Bucs have moved defensive backs coach Joe Baker to linebackers and have hired Jimmy Lake as their new defensive backs coach.

USC:  We hear Tampa Bay linebackers coach Joe Barry will be joining Lane Kiffin’s staff in the same capacity.

Old Dominion:  Head coach Bobby Wilder has agreed in principle to an extension through 2014.

Georgia Tech:  We are hearing that Giff Smith has accepted a position on Chan Gailey’s staff with the Buffalo Bills.

Sacramento State:  We hear that changes will be announced soon at Sacramento State.  We are hearing that Anthony Parker will be named defensive coordinator, Klayton Adams will take over the offensive line and Daniel DaPrato will add the special teams coordinator role in addition to his current role as receivers coach.  We hear they are currently interviewing candidates to fill the Tight Ends position as well.

Oakland Raiders:  Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson has accepted the offensive coordinator position with the Raiders.

Valparaiso:  Ohio Dominican offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Bob Muckian has been hired in the same capacity at Valparaiso.

Cornell:  Footballscoop has learned that Cornell has made a second offer to Ole Miss offensive coordinator Kent Austin.  Austin is expected to be officially named head coach in the coming days.

Tennessee Titans:  We hear the Titans have hired Kennedy Pola as their new running backs coach.  Pola was the running backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars this past season.

Idaho: Robb Akey has a new contract offer.  “We would have liked to have gotten it done by now, but it’s really in coach Akey’s court,” AD Rob Spear said. “The offer is out there, and we’re just waiting to hear from the other side.”

University of Houston: We are hearing Philadelphia Eagles assistant Brian Stewart will be the new defensive coordinator at Houston.

Princeton: FootballScoop has learned that Fordham offensive line / tight ends / recruiting coordinator Eddy Morrissey has accepted the offensive line job at Princeton. 

Air Force: Co-defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt will now become the lone defensive coordinator.  Wallerstedt will also carry the title of associate head coach.

Baltimore Ravens: Dean Pees is the new linebackers coach.

East Carolina: Brian Mitchell will be the coach that serves as defensive coordinator.

NY Jets: The AP is reporting 5 assistants will not return.  According to the report, assistant quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, assistant defensive backs coach Doug Plank, special teams assistant Kevin O’Dea, pass rush specialist Chuck Smith, and defensive quality control Brian Smith will not return.  The report says Chuck Smith will be joining the Tennessee Vols’ staff as defensive line coach.  We have not confirmed if Smith is going to Tennessee. Another article is now indicating that Rex Ryan was premature in announcing Smith to Tennessee.

Princeton: Hamilton Tiger Cats wide receivers coach Dennis Goldman has joined the Princeton staff in the same capacity.

Atlanta Falcons: We hear the Falcons have hired former Seattle Seahawks defensive backs coach Tim Lewis in the same capacity.

Central Missouri: We are hearing former UNLV assistant Jed Stuggart has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Central Missouri.

Texas Tech: We are hearing offensive grad assistant Sonny Cumbie will be promoted to full-time inside receivers coach.
